beberapa minggu kebelakangan ni asyik sibuk menguruskan hal rumah. survey sana, survey sini. alhamdulillah, renovation Part I almost siap. by end of year kontraktor tu janji, semuanya akan setel. pagi tadi pegi jenguk lagi rumah, almost 60% work complete. so far so good, takde masalah in terms of workmanship & project management. pendek kata, memang berbaloi amik zainal & the geng ni.

start dari pagi tadi sampai pukul 3 kami keluar - breakfast, car wash + hantar WML service, check rumah and zasss to bangi utk buat survey lagi. zafyra sangat2 letey sampaikan bila masuk kereta je, badan dia lembik & mata terus nak terlelap. so kesian anak mama. tapi yang herannye, dlm showroom tadi bukan main cargas? ajak duduk atas kerusi pun tak mau. la ni jam dah pukul 0649pm & dia masih tidur lagi. letey sangat2. sebelum maghrib kang nak kejutkan dia bangun.

esok plan apa pulak? MOH ajak gi nilai 3, survey apa yg patut. seumur hidup tak pernah lagi sampai tempat tu. so..dont know what to expect. our plan nak gerak awal pagi so by the time matahari dah tegak atas kepala, kami dah sedap2 duduk dlm kereta berair-cond, on the way balik rumah :D

pendek kata, selagi tak pindah masuk rumah ni, memang trasa endless lah mende2 yang nak disiapkan. tak sangka, dah sampai masa nak move out. terasa sangat2 beruntung buat keputusan nak beli rumah masa belum kawen dulu + booked lot yang belum bukak utk dijual. ada banyak kelebihan & keuntungan disebaliknye. oh, speaking about that, draft surat claim tak buat lagi! harus remind MOH utk kesekian kalinye. hehe. kalau diproses cepat, boleh dijadikan modal untuk membuat apa2 yang patut. moga2 urusan dipermudahkan.

minggu depan kami cuti panjang - balik ke SP. so kerja yang 2 hari je tu mcm tak boleh berapa fokus. sebabnya? dah lama tak cuti panjang & berehat2. am soo looking forward for this! MOH nak ajak jalan2 kat penang, pegi taman bunga LOL! so tunggu jela cerita gambar nanti.

Not too sure what to jot. too much thinking and happenings lately, was too occupied getting things done. too tired by the end of the day, got easily dozed off while getting lil' irene to sleep.

perhaps i'll just make a note or two (maybe three?) for the sake of making sure this blog is still alive.

got a contractor last week, recommended by a friend who worked in the same office. had a meet up yesterday @ 83, and was given a good offer. to boost up our confidence, the contractor brought us to visit one of his work site at D7 @ Bangi. were totally impressed! with both the house and workmanship. closed the deal there and then. got another surprise when receiving his message telling the construction stuffs will be loaded to our house tomorrow morning! what can i say..sangat committed ini person. deposit pun tak masukkan lagi dia dah nak start keje..hehehe. i like! anyways, need to put good faith and pray there'll be minimal glitches along the way. iAllah by new year the work will complete. lepas tu, lagi banyak pulak nak kene pk.

attended a friends wedding @ MAEPS today. hoped to see lotsa familiar faces, but only 2 showed up. oklah..better than none. had too little time for chat sebab anak masing2 dah cranky..lama sangat duduk dlm hall huhuu. lil' irene got too tired and sleepy, she cried out few minutes before we left. so, by 0730 pm tadi she already went to sleep. huhu sangat peaceful malam ini.

will be going back to johor this weekend..leaving the lil angel behind with atuk & nenek. sorry sayang..mama has to go offshore again. iAllah will have lotsa family trip next year since MOH is settling down with his new place. cuti pun banyak ok? plus, the list of places to go is much more interesting next year.

lil irene is approaching 20 months. dah 20 bulan..but still, every time i had to finger count berapa bulan dia dah lahir..hahah. am i a bad mom? no-lah! banyak sangat kira2 nak kene buat ok? hehehe..

anyways, she now can talk better. meaning, understandable lah. to pick a few, she'd say "pampersh nuhh" sambil pointing to her pants, or "hello, how ya yu" maknenye how are u. before this, she'd say 'bah' for tambah, or num for minum.

she grows to love books even more. makin manja, knows how to express sayang to mama & ayah. and lately, kalau ada yg take kene je, sikit2 sebut "mama mama". but paling tak tahan she's becoming obedient bile dgn MOH as compared to me.dulu dgn ayah sikit tak mau geng. musykil2. whatever it is, MOH and I has started to educate her little by little at home. with the materials we have, hope she's gonna benefit a lot, insya-Allah.

am starting to feel dizzy. lama tak stay up tehehe. perhaps i should lie down and sleep. tomorrow's gonna be a one busy day for me.

Taking a breather

from the office. literally. but still i am connected to work being at home. monitor budak2 baru belajar ni, memang trasa jadik mak tiri 24x7. they are technically good alright, tapi bab2 nak manage communication dgn partners tu agak 'sengal' lagi. but they've shown improvements, which is good. harap2 lepas sebulan dua semuanya dah cekap buat kerja insya-Allah.

what i accomplished today so far? lets see..laundry, kemas rumah, kemas dapur. all those mundane stuff. tapi apa kelainannye hari ni?? i had a hair cut & hair treatment! sangat sukeee..kulit kepala terasa segar & rambut pun rasa healthy. budak yg potong rambut tadi tu pun sangat peramah. i think my last hair cut was wayy back masa zafyra just 3 mo++ lama gile kan? now that hair all set, nak mandi basahkan rambut pun trasa sayang.. hehehe. and oh, today jugak i get to ber'internet'. i wasnt connected at all last week due to work stuff - operation baru kick off; so macam nak pengsan gak la berhempas pulas kerja. everyday showed up by 0800 am and balik after 0630 pm. malam2 check email, bangun pagi pukul 4 pagi 5 pagi pun..check email. call office. hahahahha. gilerr.. nasib baikla MOH memahami *muacks!*

i need to do this more often. bukan buat kerja gila tapi bercuti-cuti di tengah minggu kerja. ada 23 hari lagi cuti utk tahun ni. agak2 bos bagi ke kalau aku cuti for the whole december?? hahahah

did i mention we got our home keys already?? MOH picked it up last week. tapi tak boleh move in or construct anything yet coz still pending for CF. expected no later than Jan '10! huhu now terasa sangat berdebar. all those time waiting for the construction to finish, takde perasaan langsung. need to start planning out things in this near future. moga2 Allah permudahkan urusan dalam hal ini.

Working mom dilemma

Am blogging from the hotel room, the same place i went last March '09. the advantage being in the same place is, i know what to expect. so this time round, i brought sufficient food supply (instant noodles, that is) including a loaf of bread, canned foods and kuah rojak. yes, kuah rojak. read that twice if you want.

the thing about this hotel i'm staying is, they never dissapoints me in terms of food selection. although it is located at somewhat remote area with minority muslim community, they provides lotsa seafood, fruits and vegetarian for muslims to consume. they also supplies the in-famous cebu mango in your room on daily basis - 3 mangoes at most! so that explains why the rojak buah came along.

the initial plan of bringing the wholee entourage to this trip was cancelled coz MOH had just recently (last week) switched job. so its kinda INappropriate for him to take a week off after barely seeing the boss and meeting up with the work team. thus, leaving me alone in this fantastic place. i am being emotionally unstable now with the fact that i am missing my daughter very much - hugging her, kissing her cheek, her sweet baby smell and that smile. oh.. wish i could fly home at this very instant. tskkk...

Being a Mother - unknown author

We are sitting at lunch when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of ’starting a family.’
‘We’re taking a survey,’ she says, half-joking. ‘Do you think I should have a baby?’
‘It will change your life,’ I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral.
‘I know,’ she says, ‘no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations….’
But that is not what I meant at all.

I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but that becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable.

I consider warning her that she will never again read a newspaper without asking ‘What if that had been MY child?’
That every plane crash, every house fire will haunt her. That when she sees pictures of starving children, she will wonder if anything could be worse than watching your child die.

I look at her carefully manicured nails and stylish suit and think that no matter how sophisticated she is, becoming a mother will reduce her to primitive level of a bear protecting her cub.

That an urgent call of ‘Mom!’ will cause her to drop a soufflé or her best crystal without a moment’s hesitation. I feel I should warn her that no matter how many years she has invested in her career, she will be professionally derailed by motherhood.
She might arrange for child care but one day she will be going into an important business meeting and she will think of her baby’s sweet smell. She will have to use every ounce of her discipline to keep her from running home, just to make sure her baby is all right.

I want my daughter to know that everyday decisions will no longer be routine. That a five year old boy’s desire to go to the men’s room rather than the women’s at McDonald’s will become a major dilemma.

That right there, in the midst of clattering trays and screaming children, issues of independence and gender identity will be weighed against the prospect that a child molester may be lurking in that rest-room.
However she may be at the office, she will second-guess herself constantly as a mother. Looking at my attractive daughter, I want to assure her that eventually she will shed the pounds of pregnancy, but she will never feel the same about herself.
That her life, now so important, will be of less value to her once she has a child.
That she would give it up in a moment to save her offspring, but will also begin to hope for more years - not to accomplish her own dreams, but to watch her child accomplish theirs.

I want her to know that a Cesarean scar or shiny stretch marks will become badges of honor. My daughter’s relationship with her husband will change, but not in the way she thinks..

I wish she could understand how much more you can love a man who is careful to powder the baby or who never hesitates to play with his child.

I think she should know that she will fall in love with him again for reasons she would now find very unromantic.

I wish my daughter could sense the bond she will feel with women throughout history who have tried to stop war, prejudice and drunk driving. I hope she will understand why I can think rationally about most issues, but become temporarily insane when I discuss the threat of nuclear war to my children’s future.

I want to describe to my daughter the exhilaration of seeing your child learn to ride a bike.
I want to capture for her the belly laugh of a baby who is touching the soft fur of a dog or a cat for the first time.
I want her to taste the joy that is so real, it actually hurts.

My daughter’s quizzical look makes me realize that tears have formed in my eyes.
‘You’ll never regret it,’ I finally say.

Then I reach across the table, squeeze my daughter’s hand and offer a silent prayer for her, and for me, and for all of the mere mortal women who stumble their way into this most wonderful of callings.
This blessed gift from Allah!

Surprise, surprise

Our lil angel caught me with yet another surprise today.

As i let her walk herself in front of the laundry shop, she tugged my dress pointing to an opposite direction from what we used to take. I let her led the way, waiting to see what she actually wanted.

I first thought that she wanted to stop by the pool, but i was wrong. I had a second guess of course - the mini mart; but nahh, that cant be it. First, she doesnt know which way to go coz its just too difficult for a 19 mo old todd to remember. altho its located around 100m from where we stood, how can she knows where to go? i hardly brought her to the mart since she started walking. soo..she could prolly just wanna have a walk before going home. yeah..i bet you could be thinking the same too.

but to my surprise, she knows exactly which way to take and giggles everytime she got it right! and when we arrived in front of the mart's door, she finally stopped and said "haa..dahh" with a grin. meaning, dah sampai to her desired place la tu. hahaha. smart girl! it never occurred to me that a 19 months toddler would be so smart to actually direct her mom to a place she wanted & knows which route to take! memang tak boleh lupe this day. rasa nak ketawa pun ada bile sampai depan mart tu..tapi kontrol ayu la beb.

the lil angel knows what to expect bila masuk mart - goodies la kan. so dapat raisin satu kotak kecil & small pack of oreo. and surprisingly too, she didnt throw any tantrum at all today. merengek2 manja tu biasa lah. but i could do laundry, mandi, solat with peace. maybe because of the goodies? only she knows. whatever works for her works for me, for now.

in short, i feel like its too advance for a todd's milestone at 19 months. but we never know what they are capable of, right? kids, they're just full of surprises :)

it needs to be done. so now am changing mode from engineer to an interior designer *LOL* no-lah. but seriously, used to do it for fun (with mom) but need to put extra effort this time coz it'll be our dear home at stake *drumming fingers*

starting to count the days (t minus ??) ehehe but it'll be less than 4 months insya-Allah. lotsa thinking, scouting and $$ needs to be spared.. tsk..
